Merry Christmas, Happy New Year! Apologies for the belated adoption update. Between visiting family and then bad weather, we haven't had a chance to update everyone until now, but we are almost fully funded! Our original goal was about $42,000; however, we have raised our goal a little bit to $45,000. Since many services and goods, including travel expenses, have increased in cost, we anticipate the same increases in the travel portion of the adoption, so we have adjusted accordingly.

We are often asked what will happen when we meet our fundraising goal. Will we continue fundraising, or hit the brakes? The answer is: we will still be fundraising, though not as much as we have been in the past few months. Any additional money raised will go toward our child and any expenses he or she has, such as supplies and clothes, as well as medical expenses. Many times, children adopted internationally have medical issues that require surgery, so we would put the additional money into an account to offset any of these costs.

Thank you again to everyone who has been involved with our fundraisers. We cannot express how grateful we are, and how humbled we are daily to see how loved our child is already by so many. It is so overwhelming to think how far we've come in such a short time, and we know that we wouldn't be anywhere close without all of the support we've received from all of you.
